The Week from Saturday 28th June 2025

Clergy Thought: This Sunday, the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church celebrates two famous icons of faith. We celebrate the feast of the princes of the apostles and the pillars of the church. What we celebrate today is faithfulness, courage, humility, and missionary zeal. These are the qualities that characterized these two iconic figures. Peter and Paul had different backgrounds, but they worked together to spread the message of Jesus. Their missions complemented each other. Peter strengthened the Church from within, keeping it grounded and united. Paul expanded the Church, bringing in new believers from many cultures and backgrounds. Together, they helped the Church grow in numbers and in faith. Through their martyrdom, Peter and Paul showed that faith in Jesus is worth everything. Their heroic lives inspire us to be courageous in our faith and to stand firm, even when it is difficult. They also teach us to trust God, seek forgiveness, be open to change, and stay strong in faith. May we imitate Sts Peter and Paul, so that our lives will encourage others as we live with purpose and share the message of Jesus with those we encounter in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Amen! Fr Alex
